There is no need to have a ready supply of expensive filters on hand which can save a lot of money over time. If there are any drawbacks to ionic air purifiers it is that their range of purification ability is somewhat limited as compared to larger, but noisier air filters that incorporate a fan.

When considering the purchase of an ionic system it is important to look at the effective range of the model you think is right for you and determine whether you may need more than one of them in order to purifier the air in the room or rooms you are thinking of using them.

Another drawback is that they are not very effective at removing odors. If your house is frequently smelly because of pets or other reasons then a different kind of purification system with a fan and air filter is probably a better choice for your situation.

Before investing in any sort of air purification system, it is important to determine which one is the best for you, as it doesn’t make sense to just go out and buy one and then find out that it does not meet your needs.
